Baking Mix

Thursday is my food prep day and this baking mix is one of the things I will make up ahead of time to make meal preparation even easier! It can be used in place of Bisquick to make things like pancakes, biscuits, muffins, and fruit cobblers.

4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup instant nonfat milk powder or dry buttermilk powder
1 cup vegetable shortening plus 2 tablespoons

Simply combine all dry ingredients and then cut in shortening using a pastry blended until evenly distributed. Store in a covered container or a large baggie.
